ST. DAVID’S NEW CATHEDRAL.
The Bishop of Tasmania will (D. V.) consecrate the Cathedral Church of St. David on Thursday morning next, the 5th instant, at II o’clock a.m. The Sermon at the Consecration will be preached by the Lord Bishop of Adelaide.
On the same day there will be a special Evening Service, with Sermon, at 7.30.In the afternoon there will be a Public Luncheon at 2.30. The Services on the 5th instant will be Choral.
On Friday, the 6th instant, the services will be as follows :–A Celebration of the Holy Communion at 7.30 a.m. ; Morning Prayer and Litany at 10 ; Special Evening Service (Choral), with Sermon at 7.30.
On Saturday, the Morning Services will be the same as on Friday ; Evening Prayer will be said at 5.15.
On Sunday, the 8th instant, the Opening Services will be continued as follows :-Celebration of Holy Communion at 7.30 ; Morning Prayer (Choral), with Sermon, at 11 ; Litany (Choral) with Sermon at 4 ; Evening Service (Choral), with Sermon at 7.
All offertories at the Opening Services will be devoted to the Cathedral Building Fund. There is still a deficiency of £1,500. All clergymen wishing to take part in the Opening Services are requested to bring surplice and stole, and to assemble, if possible, at the Cathedral on Wednesday evening (the 4th inst.), at 8 o’clock, for the purpose of arranging various matters connected with the ceremony of Consecration. All the seats in the New Cathedral will be entirely free and unappropriated both at the Opening Services and afterwards.
