BURGLARIOUS ATTEMPT.–In the dead of the night of Wednesday last, a most daring attempt at burglary, was made on the premises of Mr. Davis, publican of Charles and Brisbane-streets, Launceston. The villains effected an entrance by tearing down part of the chimney. The noise they made, however, alarmed the inhabitants ; and the depredators being disturbed instantly decamped without any booty. We regret that they are hot known.
