Church Photos
The aim of this project is to get a photo of every church in Tasmania, with a very broad definition of "church". Some of these photos
have been taken from the window of a car in passing. Some of these have been taken when was I able to walk through the building and take my time over composing photos. Most of them are somewhere in between :)
I am working through an eleven year backlog of photos (currently up to 2009), trying to add some every night.
Cemetery Photos
I also take photos of headstones around churches and cemeteries, because they're interesting. There is no attempt to provide photos of all headstones in any cemetery I visit because there are other sites that do that better page . If there only a small number of headstones, I'll try to take photos of all of them but otherwise it's just whatever catches my attention. I was including transcriptions in the posts, but I found it was taking too much time (hours for each post) and I'd rather put that time into putting up church photos.
(Although I'm happy to include transcription that might be useful or of interest to someone else. I just don't want to spend hours doing it for no purpose. So if you're interested in what a particular stone or two says, ask and I'll see if I can read it on the larger original. Although note the comment about comments above. The spam filters have sharp teeth.)

September 18, 2018 at 8:56pmI am wondering if this was the Congregational Church located at Shipwrights Point which is now part of Port Huon just a short distance from Castle Forbes Bay. Shipwrights Point has such a strong history but so many buildings/residences are no longer there including the ship building facilities of Thomas Inches/James McLaren who used this church. It was still active at least until the 1950s per archived newspapers. Because of its address, I think this could be it but really unsure.
