The nearby information panel says:
“Ahead of you is a hidden village. People lived at the edge of the mobile dune system for hundreds of years, possibly as far back as the 700s. Over time things changed. The dunes gradually migrated into the area where people were living. Legend has it that the village was finally abandoned after a storm in 1413.”
All that’s left is the walls of the kirk.
