Woodlark, 1824

In February, 1824 twenty eight men were involved in an escape attempt from Port Macquarie, NSW (Port Macquarie was a site of secondary punishment in NSW - for men that had been convicted since arriving in the colony). They were then transferred to Macquarie Harbour, on the west coast of Van Diemen's Land to complete their sentences. In the Colonial Secretary's Office records, there are two related items of correspondance. I've included a transcription of these, as well as I can. (I'll add here, this is just the Woodlark's passengers, I haven't looked into the Triton yet.)

Letter from Goulburn to Sorell, 9th February 1824 with "List of prisoners sent to Hobart Town on the Woodlark"

List of 28 Convicts who having effected their escape from Port Macquarie were forwarded on the 9th Feb on the Brig "Woodlark" to Hobart Town for the purpose of serving the remainder of their original or Colonial Sentences (which of the two may happen to be the longer period) at Macquarie Harbour in Van Diemens Land. (It's not a very nice table to read but it's there. I'll scan in bits of it, if requested for anyone that wants to confirm details.)
