Sketchy details from a Deloraine resident – the Uniting Church was the Methodist, and the first established in Deloraine. The Methodist and Pres congregations combined, giving up the Pres building and meeting in what was the Methodist building, but it looks like they wanted to keep using the name St Andrews. The Uniting congregation dwindled to the point where it closed altogether a few months ago. The premises are now rented by a Mennonite group of about 120.

Thank you for adding that. I’ve been having trouble information on the Deloraine churches.

There are a number of headstones gather near a tree in the cemetery area at the back of the church.

The Uniting Church sold St Andrew’s Church and Cemetery on West Barrack St in March 2022 to Wayland & Daughters P/L who will maintain public access to the cemetery. The Uniting Church seems to have no archives on the history of the church and only a list of names of those interred in the cemetery. Any information that can be provided will be greatly appreciated.
The new cemetery manager can be contacted through cemeteryonwestbarrack@gmail.com
