Paterson St Methodist/Pilgrim Uniting Church, Launceston

Dscf5548
Opened 21 February 1868, after the congregation outgrew the original Wesleyan Chapel next door, which is now the church hall. The name was changed in 1982 after the joining of three congregations (see below) with the creation of the Uniting Church. The website provides a account of the background and construction of the church (Pilgrim History for Web near bottom of page).

The Walduck Memorial Window was unveiled in the Paterson Street Methodist Church on 11 September 1960, in recognition of the Walduck family’s significant contribution to the church.. I am a Walduck, involved in researching a family history book. We would love to have a photo of the Walduck window included in the book. Is there any chance of somebody taking a good (high resolution) photo of it and emailing it to me? That would be very much appreciated. Many thanks, Sue Scott, Tunnack, Tasmania.

    Hello,
Can you tell me if a Rev Joseph Piercy preached here for a few years in about the mid 1800’s. He was know as the golden voiced preacher (or so we believe)?

Thanks for any response you can give

    Regards
