The gentlemen representing the English church building committee held a meeting at Exeter on Tuesday night last. They have decided to have the ground which Mr W. J. Southerwood was so good to give to the church, surveyed and transferred to the church trustees, and other preparatory work done before building.

At the last meeting of the committee of the Exeter branch of the Anglican Church, presided over by the Rev. C. C. Macmichael, it was decided at an early date to commence building the nave of anew church, and also a curate’s house near by. To raise money for this purpose it is intended to open a booth for refreshments at the next annual show subject to the approval of the committee of the Tamar Farmers’ and Fruitgrowers’ Association.

NEW CHURCH AT EXETER
The adherents of the Church of England at Exeter are energetically promoting the work of a new church building, the foundation of which is to be laid at 2.30 p.m. on Monday next by the Lord Bishop of Tasmania, Dr. Stephen. The rector, the Rev. E. A. Salisbury, and his wardens are desirous of welcoming as many friends from the Tamar side and Launceston as can make it convenient to attend, so that the important function may be as impressive and successful as the event deserves.

ALL SAINTS, EXETER.
All Saints Church of England, Exe ter will be consecrated by the Bishop of Tasmania on Saturday next 20th inst., at 3 p.m. when it is hoped that there will he a large attendance of lo cal and visiting adherents of the de nomination. The date for the ceremony had been previously fixed, but a postponement was necessitated by the indisposition of the Bishop. The Rec tor of All Saints, Rev. E. Woolley, desires it to be understood that cards of invitation previously issued will hold good for next Saturday.
